Am 18.06.2006 verstarb Markus “Zimbl” Zimmer (Bass / Gesang The Bates) im Alter von nur 41 Jahren.

Um ihn zu ehren fand am 28.12.2006 eine große Tribute-Veranstaltung im Spot-Kassel statt. Erstmals seit der offiziellen Band-Trennung 2001 kletterten 2006 alle ehemaligen Bates-Mitglieder gemeinsam im Rahmen dieser Veranstaltung wieder auf die Bühne.

Der gesamte Erlös dieser Veranstaltung wurde für gute Zwecke gespendet.

Zum Tribute 2006 erschien ein auf 1000 Stück limitierter Tribute-Sampler. Der Sampler war nach wenigen Tagen ausverkauft.
